Game On — Finally!

We’ve been waiting for this–winter has finally arrived. So strap on the skis and go to nearby Mt. Sunapee, Ragged or Pat’s Peak, or use our snowshoes, or just take a winter hike–it is all available just for you. Our fearless leader, Dave, pictured above, can take you out for a lovely winter’s snowshoeing adventure, as he did with this guest. Afterwards, you can cozy up to a fireplace, with wine or hot cocoa. So come and enjoy the season, the Follansbee Inn way!

Summer, Fall, Winter

The Follansbee provides 3 seasons of fun–all at once! The hanging basket of petunias braved all of the summer and then the tree leaves in the background turned for fall. Mother Nature’s trick was to give us a record foot of snow for the trick or treat season. So here we have it, all in one photograph. The snow is not expected to stay around for long, however, with temperatures climbing back into the fifties. But it does remind us that winter is around the corner. We will be taking a break ourselves, and so we think this is an appropriate pictures to leave you until ski season (make your reservations now for the January ski season).

Beauty and The Beast

On this last weekend of October, we couldn’t help ourselves, so we went to Mount Sunapee to get one last, beautiful look at the leaves on the trees that line the bottom of the slopes. With a Noreaster expected to bring a big snowstorm tonight, we realize that it will put an early end to our fall season! Of course, we look forward to seeing you all in January, when you can hit the slopes, or cross country, or snowshoe from our door, or ice fish (well, you get the picture)…

Last October Weekend

The last weekend of October is full of falling leaves and plenty of activity. You can still hike, bike, boat and sightsee. Photo opportunities for beautiful rusts and golds still abound. So, take our scenic road and come visit us this last weekend. Otherwise, you have to wait until January!

Leaf Peeping

David McCullough at Saint- Gaudens

Come stay with us at the Follansbee Inn and go visit Saint- Gaudens for a book signing with David McCullough. Augustus Saint- Gaudens was one of the world’s most famous sculptors and you can see his work here. David McCullough wrote the book The Greater Journey: Americans in Paris. Augustus Saint- Gaudens was an American sculptor known world-wide and you can visit his estate in New Hampshire and enjoy some fall foliage as well. Chocolate to Die For

As our attention fully turns to fall foliage and the autumn season, we thought that the New Hampshire Chocolate Shoppe in Walpole, Burdick’s, is worth a trip. You can stock up on high quality chocolate Halloween treats and take in some beautiful leaves and covered bridges while you are at it!
